The “Sanctus” from the present Missa Brevis in E flat was originally composed in 2017, as the composer wanted to devote himself more and more to church music composition. Inspired by the desire to create a complete mass, a complete setting of the Ordinary was created over the course of five years. The structure of the composition is kept simple and is not based on the usual fugue technique. And yet the partly polyphonic, partly chordal movement style, skilfully incorporating constantly dissolving dissonances, results in unexpected new sound experiences. The work can be played with a minimum of choir and organ. The full sonority unfolds with the complete instrumentation.
