Erlösung
The concert funeral march ERLÖSUNG (REDEMPTION) is a musical reflection on the themes of death, grief, letting go, and hope. The work is divided into two clearly contrasting main sections, forming an emotional and dramatic arc.
The first section portrays the experience of death and the suffering that accompanies it. Dark sonorities, solemn melodies, irregular rhythms, and an expressive musical language convey pain, farewell, and the emotional weight of loss. The music traces the journey through grief and despair, inviting the listener to reflect upon the finiteness of human life.
In the second main section, the musical character gradually transforms. The dark atmosphere gives way to an increasingly luminous and tranquil soundscape. This section represents redemption, understood as liberation from suffering and pain, as well as the transition to peace and inner serenity. Hope and consolation replace grief, leading the work to a reconciliatory and peaceful conclusion.
The final measures carry a special symbolic meaning: they represent the last breaths of a human being. Through increasingly calm and delicate musical gestures, the work gradually fades into silence, symbolizing the act of letting go and the final transition.
