Lukas Tait was born in Trento, Italy, in 1989. At the age of nine, he began taking recorder and singing lessons at the Salurn Music School. Shortly afterwards, he discovered his passion for the trombone and took up lessons on the trombone with Stephan Hanspeter.

In 2004, he transferred to the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatory in Bolzano, where he studied for three years under trombone teacher Igino Ferrari and further deepened his musical education. His active music career began in 2005 with the music groups Haderkrainer and Club 99, with whom he played numerous concerts. Later, he was also a member of the ska band Skatarada. In addition to these main projects, Lukas Tait also played regularly with various wind bands. He was particularly active with the Musikkapelle and Böhmischen Salurn, while also working as a substitute musician with other bands and Bohemian groups, including Faedo, Mezzacorona, Eggen, Auer and Lavis. In total, he has played over 700 live concerts in the course of his musical career.

Between 2006 and 2012, he took part in the Xong course in Mals, a renowned workshop led by the internationally renowned brass ensemble Mnozil Brass.

In 2013, he released a CD with his band ‘Club 99’, which also includes two of his own compositions. The album reached number 9 in the global ska music rankings. In 2016, Lukas Tait also composed the new team anthem for the FC Südtirol football club. Another international highlight followed in 2026 with a performance at the renowned Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. This led to his composition ‘The Spirit of Scotland’, a collaboration with Scottish musician Ross Ainslie, who played the whistle and bagpipes on the track.

Today, Lukas Tait focuses increasingly on composing epic and cinematic music that combines orchestral soundscapes with influences from folk and modern film music.

His greatest motivation remains his passion for music and his desire to share this enthusiasm with others.
